Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Nashville, TN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,843 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS certification Must-Have: Med/Surg experience Ability to prioritize care Multitasking skills IV start skills Basic wound care Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes Description: The unit has a total of 20 beds with a patient ratio of 6:1. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts, with unit secretaries working from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The unit is equipped with IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners. The documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts per week, with two weekends included (four shifts) in a four-week schedule. In the event of staff shortages, contract labor will float first, with a rotation system in place when multiple staff are scheduled. Staff is expected to deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families. Bedside shift reports are conducted, with a focus on forming personal connections with patients and involving them and their families in their care plans. The unit has certifications in Comprehensive Stroke and is an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, as well as a Certified Chest Pain Center. Additional skills required include the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize patient care. The dress code is navy scrubs, both tops and bottoms.
