Medical Center, a 159-bed hospital about 15 minutes outside of
Nashville, has provided high-quality health care to residents of
Sumner and surrounding counties for over 40 years. The facility is
the first Accredited Chest Pain Center in Sumner County and is a
Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Birth Center at TriStar
Hendersonville, featuring Sumner County---s only Neonatal Intensive
Care Unit (NICU), hosts spacious LDRP suites and a lactation
boutique for inpatient and outpatient services. In addition to its
main hospital campus, other affiliates include TriStar Women---s
Imaging Hendersonville, The Outpatient Center at Hendersonville,
TriStar Portland ER and TriStar Portland Diagnostic Center.--
TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center--is looking for a--First
- Assists in preparing theoperating room and performs assigned
support duties during surgical procedures.
- Ensures all instruments function properly prior to usage,
displaying knowledge of instrument and content ofset.
- Assists the RN inprioritizing implementation of physician---s
orders according to the patient---sneeds.
- Performs weekly and monthlyspecialty assignment.
- Assists in procuringinstrumentation in accordance with
surgeon---s preference card, knowledge of theprocedure, in
consideration of the anatomy involved.-- Anticipates the needs of
patients andprocures instrumentation according to those needs.
- Assists team members inselecting and preparing routine
supplies, instruments and equipment for thesurgical procedure
according to the procedural card.
- Readies all positioningdevices deemed necessary by procedure,
surgeon preference and patientpre-operative assessment.
- Identifies and transportspatients as needed assists with
shaving the operative site when indicated.-- Secures all necessary
- Assists the scrub nurse tomaintain an accurate account of
sponges, sharps, and instruments according todepartmental policies
- Assures that the procedureinformation is documented on the
procedural cards for future referenceaccording to policy and
procedure.--Documents patient positioning, required supplies,
equipment andinstruments to maintain current doctor's preference
- Regularly assists in theorientation and training of other
- Sets up instrument stand withdrapes, sutures, power tools, and
other instruments in accordance with theoperating surgeon---s
- Opens drape pack, followingbasic aseptic technique.-- Assist
firstAssistant or surgeon in draping patient to establish the
sterile field inaccordance with AORN Standards and Recommended
