The Contract Sr Specialist participates in the development, fulfilment and management of contract requirements in the purchase or sale/delivery of equipment, materials, products or services. This role evaluates contract compliance with internal contract controls, inputs business terms in appropriate contracts, requests or approves and prepares amendments to contract terms or contract extensions and prepares bids or requests for proposals (RFPs) including specifications and requirements; manages the contract approval process, manage and maintains the contract data base; manages and maintains the pricing data base, and advises others on contractual rights and obligations. Core Duties and Responsibilities Efficiently and accurately create and modify customer pricing agreements, as well as calculate market prices and maintain pricing variables and formulas in financial database, in accordance with contract terms Manage and Maintain electronic document management system and reports to properly track, maintain and retrieve proper records Ability to review and recognize documents for completeness and compliance, and secure necessary approvals to ensure standard company policy and procedures are being followed; and the ability to explain the need for modifications when documents are not satisfactory. Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of Company contracts, products, proprietary lines, business models, customer type, composition and specific application, and the ability to incorporate this information as well as health and bio-security protocols into contract language, and the ability to draft contracts that best fit the business situation. Recognize and anticipate finance and operational implications of non-standard business terms and unusual scope of work showing proficiency in articulating the potential risks and possible resolutions to others both written and verbally, informing and working with relevant parties as necessary. Ability to craft non-standard business terms succinctly while assuring proper approvals and adherence to finance policies. Demonstrate ability to discuss the distinguishing features of all Company contracts to enable effective communication of business and legal terms consistent with Genus Policies, and initiate conversation with customers, legal counsel and internal staff. Ability to communicate and collaborate with other internal resources to assess client contract and product adoption history. Job Description Contract Sr. Specialist, PIC Effectively monitor legal review activities to assure timely turn around, effective transition of redlined changes back to sales and clients and prevention of non-approved changes to contract drafts. Articulate non-standard transactions effectively to legal counsel to maximize efficiency and relevance of legal advice. Understand the correlation between contracting data and management ability to measure sales performance creating and maintaining accurate and relevant trend reports and ad hoc investigations of contract and pricing activities. Proactively communicate Company contract policies and procedures to new and existing Account Managers, identify sales training needs and potential improvements while assuring ongoing integrity and consistency of processes. Qualifications University degree required Minimum of 3 years of contract experience and/or high-level pricing schematics; agriculture experience preferred Applicable experience in contract, financial and customer databases required Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required Ability to work in and maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts and fast-paced environment Work requires continual attention to detail and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines Must be a customer-focused team player with problem solving abilities Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems in an empowered, self-directed/managed work environment Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
