Research Software Engineer with Vanderbilt University

Provide information technology support for the research community.
This includes software development and maintenance, web application
development and support, and data analytics and visualizations.
Assist with modeling and analysis of discipline-specific problems.
Assist with the development and maintenance of discipline-specific
software systems and/or engineering tools to support project and
research goals. Adhere to existing, develop and recommend technical
standards. Prepare technical documentation for work products of
project. Maintain familiarity and build expertise with emerging
technologies and techniques related to project and research
goals.
Position allows for remote work 3 days per week.
Job Requirements: Requires Master's in Computer Science, or related
field. Position requires 1 year related experience. Must have some
experience in each of the following skills: Software system
development, modeling, and systems engineering; Software
engineering methodologies and software project management;
Performance tuning of software systems constraints; Software and
web development tools and programming languages including C/C++,
Java, PHP, JavaScript and Python; Full-stack web development with
React and RESTful API; Application deployment through AWS; Data
management and analysis techniques including SQL, GraphDB, MongoDB,
and Blockchain; Containerization and orchestration tools like
Docker.
