Neuro and Cardiac experience Description: This position requires
working in a progressive care unit with a focus on observation. The
unit has 25 beds with a patient ratio of 4:1 during the day and 5:1
at night. Staff includes 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator, 6-7
Registered Nurses, 2 Technicians, and 1 Unit Secretary. Equipment
used includes Alaris Pumps, tele-tracking systems, Imobile
Communication, B450 Monitors, and the Pyxis system. Documentation
is managed through Meditech. Scheduling is full-time at 36 hours
per week with every third weekend required. Part-time options are
available at 24 hours per week and also require every third
weekend. PRN shifts consist of 3 shifts a month with one weekend
day included. Travelers are expected to work 36 hours per week and
every other weekend. Floating may occur on a rotating basis to meet
the needs of the facility. Candidates should be skilled in triaging
acute care patients and identifying life-threatening rhythms.
Advanced skills necessary for this role include glucose monitoring,
Foley insertion, dressing changes, EKGs, and peritoneal dialysis.
The required dress code includes black scrubs for registered
nurses, royal blue scrubs for technicians, and grey scrubs for unit
secretaries. Closed-toed shoes are a must, and crocs are not
permitted. This newly built unit features state-of-the-art
equipment and technology designed specifically for observation
