Job Description:
TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, a leading healthcare
provider in Nashville, TN, is seeking a dedicated and experienced
PACU Nurse to join our post-anesthesia care unit. Our facilities
pride themselves on delivering exceptional emergency care,
cardiology, orthopedics, and rehabilitation services with a focus
on compassionate patient care. As a PACU Nurse, you will play a
critical role in managing the recovery of patients who have
undergone surgery, ensuring they receive the highest standard of
care during the critical post-anesthesia period. This role requires
a profound commitment to patient safety, the ability to respond
swiftly to patient needs, and an understanding of pain management
and post-operative care protocols. Monitor patients for changes in
status and indications of conditions such as sepsis or shock and
institute appropriate interventions. Assess patients' pain levels
and administer appropriate pain relief methods according to
physician orders and standards of practice. Evaluate patients'
post-operative vital signs, level of consciousness, and orientation
frequently to ensure stable recovery. Educate patients and their
families on post-procedure care, potential side effects, and needed
follow-up. Document all patient care in a concise and comprehensive
manner according to hospital policy. Strong clinical skills with a
focus on surgical recovery and pain management. Excellent
interpersonal communication skills for effectively interacting with
patients, families, and medical staff. Ability to work under
pressure and react effectively to emergency situations. Proficient
in using medical software and patient management systems. Medical

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee or
compact state license. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced
Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
