This position involves providing care in a 34-bed unit. The
patient-to-nurse ratio is 6:1. Staff support includes technicians
available on both day and night shifts. There is a unit secretary
available during daytime hours. Equipment used includes IV pumps,
telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA,
EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication
technology. Documentation is conducted using a Meditech system.
Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts per week, including two
weekends. Floating policy indicates that contract labor is the
first to float, with rotation among multiple staff scheduled.
Patient experience is a priority, emphasizing attentive and
compassionate care to patients and their family members. Bedside
shift report is implemented to facilitate personal connections and
involve patients in their plan of care. The unit is recognized for
