to find a qualified Med/Surg RN in Smyrna, Tennessee, 37167! Job

- Ability to jump in and learn quickly Description: This position
is for a Registered Nurse in a busy medical-surgical unit. The unit
has 54 beds, including a dedicated ortho/spine area. Patient ratios
are 1:5-6 for RNs and 1:12-15 for patient care technicians. The
RN/LPN team will manage a total of 10 patients. The unit is staffed
with RNs, LPNs, and patient care technicians based on staffing and
census. Unit secretaries are available until 8 PM during weekdays.
The unit is well-equipped with Alaris pumps, remote telemetry,
continuous pulse oximetry, specialty beds, and transfer equipment.
Documentation is done using a Meditech system. Scheduling requires
at least one weekend shift within a 4-week period. Floating within
the unit is at the discretion of management. Candidates should
possess strong assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking
skills. General Medical/Surgical procedures are performed,
including post-catheterizations, laparoscopic procedures, and
stable trauma care. A supportive culture fosters teamwork and
collaboration among staff. Flexible scheduling and consistent
communication with leadership are key aspects of this role. This
unit has been recognized as an ACS Certified Hernia Center of
Excellence and as an Accredited Unit of Distinction. New equipment,
including bladder scanners and a user-friendly EKG machine, is
