Minimum 2 Years License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
Stroke Certification, EKG Rhythm Certification Must-Have: Neuro and
Cardiac experience Advanced Skills: Procedures performed on unit
include glucose monitoring, Foley insertion, dressing changes,
EKGs, and peritoneal dialysis. Description: The position requires a
Registered Nurse in a fast-paced, energetic, and friendly work
environment. This unit is equipped with advanced technology
specifically designed for the observation care of patients. It
consists of 25 beds with patient ratios of 4:1 during the day and
5:1 at night. Staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 6-7 Registered
Nurses, 2 Technicians, and 1 Unit Secretary. The unit uses
equipment such as Alaris pumps, tele-tracking, mobile communication
devices, B450 monitors, and Pyxis. The scheduling requirements
include full-time hours of 36 per week with every third weekend,
part-time hours of 24 with every third weekend, and PRN shifts of 3
per month, including one weekend day. Travelers are expected to
work 36 hours and every other weekend. Floating is conducted on a
rotating system to meet patient care needs. Patient experience
requirements include triaging acute care patients and identifying
life-threatening rhythms. The unit and hospital prioritize high
patient experience and offer recognition awards such as the Daisy
