Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Able to perform basic patient assessments. - General care and maintenance of wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, and chest tubes. - Experience with dialysis or PCA pumps. - Heparin drip administration. Description: This position involves providing patient care in a medical surgical environment. The unit comprises 25 beds with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5. Staffing includes US every day and PRN techs. Basic equipment includes Welch Allyn VS carts, Hoyer lifts, Broda chairs, and Alaris IV pumps. Documentation is conducted via a specified electronic system. Four weekend shifts are required in a four-week period. Floating may occur over core staff. Patient experience practices include bedside shift reporting and safety checks every one to two hours. Candidates must possess the COVID vaccine. The position requires performing post-operative procedures such as amputations, managing ostomies, drains, chest tubes, and wound vacs. The dress code consists of navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue scrubs. Unit guidelines include HAI prevention and monitoring with standard precautions, fall prevention, and medication scanning protocols. Teamwork is emphasized, and candidates will be integrated smoothly into the unit with strong support from experienced charges and leadership.
